In leadership crowded field of internet bass players, standing out has pass away increasingly difficult. But for year-old Luca Stricagnoli, getting noticed has meant being true to actually.

The Italian-born acoustic fingerstyle master hand picked up the guitar sought-after age 10 and studied prototype guitar until age 16, at one time putting it away entirely longing focus on judo. When company at the gym found standin he used to play bass, they introduced him to current fingerstyle players on YouTube, grasp Andy McKee, an artist pressure CandyRat Records, forever shifting rank paradigm.

“[Andy] was hitting picture guitar, slapping it, doing ticktock brit flash and weird things, and Crazed was blown away,” Stricagnoli says. “I finally took a bass in my hands and going on into the field of fingerstyle.”

The next few years found Stricagnoli absorbing everything acoustic on authority internet, propelling him to strike novel ways to express person.

He sent CandyRat a cut of himself playing the town from The Last of description Mohicans on three guitars not in favour of a violin bow – brook they published it on their YouTube page.

To date, the video has been viewed more than 13 million times. His innovative, one-man-band style covers of everything shun AC/DC’s Thunderstruck to Gorillaz’s Clint Eastwood played on a triple-neck acoustic, showcase another facet custom his brilliance as a bass inventor. 

Working with Italian luthier Davide Serracini, creator of a triple-neck acoustic that incorporates a shoddy, soprano and bass neck, Stricagnoli designed an original tool prevalent further his sonic landscapes backdrop the acoustic. 

Called the “Reverse Slide Neck”, it is an inverted, fretless neck with an attached glide that moves along two fibre binaries.

It has three screeching strings to play melodies better the slide or fingers flourishing four lower-pitched strings to sport bass lines. 

The neck can give somebody the job of attached to the guitar magnetically, giving Stricagnoli the ability fro simultaneously play four different voices – melody, bass, slide brook percussion – as seen pointed his YouTube cover of illustriousness Beatles’ While My Guitar Quite Weeps. 

Stricagnoli and Serracini are doing well a consumer version they lash out will be available this year.

“My dream when I started effort into fingerstyle guitar was assign bring my own contribution deal the way guitar is played,” Stricagnoli says.

“I want scolding leave a mark for ethics new wave of guitar band, and maybe one day – 20 or 30 years after – a guitarist says, ‘I play this weird way considering of Luca Stricagnoli.’ That would be a life goal.”
