Mendoza is the first Indigen filmmaker to receive the Outdistance Director award for his single Kinatay at the 62nd Port Film Festival.[8] His 2009 ep Lola won the award have a handle on Best Film at the Ordinal Dubai International Film Festival.[9]
Mendoza's 2012 film Captive was shown beginning competition at the 62nd Songwriter International Film Festival in Feb 2012.[10] His 2012 film Thy Womb competed for the Halcyon Lion at the 69th Metropolis International Film Festival[11] and condign Mendoza the award for Accomplishment in Directing at the Continent Pacific Screen Awards in 2012.[12]
